BOOST YOUR CHILDREN’S SELF ESTEEM - By AALIA ZAKIR
"Oh why dont you talk to your friends? Everyone is talking .. why can't you speak to everyone too? You are always shy"
Does this sound too similar?
We all want our children to excel in everything and be the best. But are we doing more harm than good?
We often label our children with words like shy, dumb and what not. Of course no one does it on purpose.
Children's mind works on a complete different level. They absorb whatever we say and start believing it.
Its not them that we have to change, rather, we have to change ourselves.
Here are some tips to help your child develop self esteem.
- Use positive and motivating words. A little word of motivation goes a long way.
- Always encourage them.
- NEVER NEVER put your child down in front of others
- Give them their own time to grow and start doing things.
- ALWAYS listen to what they say. It may be a small little thing they want to share with you. But still, LISTEN!
- If they have done something wrong, don't shout at them. Talk to them and help them understand in a positive way.
I know all of us want the best for our kids. But consciously or unconsciously we let them down.
Let's help build our children's self esteem and work towards their bright future.
